A Walk in the Dark
The night was drawing in, and although I started the walk and it was still light, it wasn't long before we were blundering across the field with only the light from my mobile phone to guide us. It was part of a new adventure to Dasher, and we eventually found our way back to the car. I can't believe he is eleven months old now. Looking back on the last five months was a bit like a walk in the dark, and we didn't know how he was going to fare after his operation and physiotherapy. But I can happily say that we can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel we have had to go through. Dasher has been able to join our training club again, albeit just on the sidelines, because his arousal levels are high, and we are just working on focus at the moment. I am sure we will get there in the end, even though he has some catching up to do. But dogs teach me so much about approaching life with the joy of the moment. Even in the dark, there is always fun to be had.
